Hiring.zycto is seeking dedicated and experienced Waste Management Drivers for an immediate start in Fairfield, Liverpool. This is a critical full-time role vital to maintaining the cleanliness and environmental health of our vibrant community. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate specialized waste collection vehicles (e.g., refuse collection vehicles, skip loaders) on designated routes.
  • Perform daily vehicle checks, including fluid levels, tyre pressure, and lights, ensuring compliance with road safety regulations.
  • Collect and transport various types of waste and recycling materials from residential and commercial properties.
  • Adhere strictly to scheduled routes and collection times, ensuring timely service delivery.
  • Operate vehicle compaction equipment and lifting mechanisms safely and correctly.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle cab, reporting any defects, breakdowns, or incidents promptly.
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures, traffic laws, and environmental regulations.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with the public and team members.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and digital records accurately and promptly (e.g., driver logs, route sheets).
  • Assist loaders with waste collection tasks when required, demonstrating teamwork.

Required Skills

  • Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) HGV driving license.
  • Driver CPC qualification.
  • Digital Tachograph card.
  • Proven experience as an HGV driver, preferably in waste management or similar operations.
  • Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of Liverpool and surrounding areas.
  • Ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and operating vehicle equipment.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to health and safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating refuse collection vehicles or similar specialized vehicles.
  • Experience working in a public-facing role.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks.
  • Knowledge of waste segregation and recycling practices.
