Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly organized, results-oriented, and experienced Storage Manager to lead our retail storage operations in the iconic Gooderham Building, Toronto. In this pivotal full-time role, you will be the linchpin of our inventory management system, responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of retail merchandise. You will play a critical part in maintaining optimal stock levels, ensuring product availability for our customers, and minimizing shrinkage. This position demands a strategic thinker with hands-on leadership capabilities who can inspire a team, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement within a dynamic retail setting.

Your day-to-day will involve overseeing all aspects of warehouse logistics, from incoming shipments to outbound transfers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of retail storage operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatch of merchandise.
  • Manage inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation processes.
  • Optimize storage space utilization and implement efficient warehouse layout strategies.
  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of storage associates, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with store management, merchandising, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless product flow and availability.
  • Implement and improve operational procedures to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize shrinkage.
  • Generate and analyze reports on inventory levels, movement, and operational performance.
  • Manage equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Negotiate and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers as needed.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse or storage management, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy merchandise, and stand for extended periods.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics (e.g., CSCMP, APICS).
  • Experience with retail-specific inventory software.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating similar warehouse equipment.
