Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated, compassionate, and skilled Registered Dietitian to join our thriving multidisciplinary healthcare team, based conveniently in York University Heights, Toronto. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough and comprehensive nutritional assessments for a wide range of patients, encompassing various age groups, cultural backgrounds, and complex health conditions. Building upon these assessments, you will skillfully develop, meticulously implement, and continuously evaluate personalized meal plans and dietary interventions that are both effective and sustainable for our patients. A significant aspect of your daily responsibilities will involve providing engaging and empathetic one-on-one dietary counseling, as well as facilitating impactful group education sessions on critical topics such as chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, heart disease), weight management, food allergies and intolerances, gastrointestinal disorders, and general preventive nutrition strategies. You will foster a collaborative environment, working seamlessly with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other allied health professionals to ensure integrated, holistic, and patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients across various age groups and health conditions.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized medical nutrition therapy plans based on evidence-based guidelines and patient needs.
  • Provide one-on-one dietary counseling and education to patients and their families on topics such as chronic disease management, weight management, allergies, and preventive nutrition.
  • Facilitate group education sessions and workshops on healthy eating and specific dietary interventions.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition care into overall patient treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and progress in electronic health records.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and contribute to care planning.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of nutrition programs and educational materials.
  • Stay current with the latest research and advancements in nutrition science and dietetics.
  • Adhere to all professional standards, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements set by the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO).

Required Skills

  • Must be a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO) and in good standing.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutritional Sciences, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Proven experience in clinical nutrition, patient counseling, and medical nutrition therapy.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nutrition care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a community health setting or private practice.
  • Specialized certifications (e.g., Certified Diabetes Educator, sports nutrition, renal nutrition).
  • Fluency in additional languages relevant to Toronto's diverse population (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, Tagalog).
  • Experience with program development and quality improvement initiatives.
