Key Responsibilities
- Participate in a structured training program covering all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Assist Warehouse Managers and Team Leads in daily operational tasks, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company policies.
- Learn and apply best practices for inventory management, stock rotation, and quality control procedures.
- Monitor and support workflow processes to optimize productivity and meet operational targets.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Shadow experienced staff to understand labor scheduling, performance management, and team leadership.
- Contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) under supervision, once certified.
- Generate and review operational reports, learning to analyze data for performance insights.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office Suite)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Reliable transportation to the job site
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Prior experience in a warehouse, retail, or manufacturing environment (even part-time or volunteer)
- Familiarity with inventory management systems (WMS)
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one
