Key Responsibilities
- Interview travellers and inspect goods to determine admissibility into Canada.
- Apply and enforce various acts and regulations, including the Customs Act and Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
- Detect and intercept prohibited or restricted goods, contraband, and illegal firearms.
- Collect customs duties, taxes, and levies as required.
- Conduct detailed examinations of vehicles, vessels, and aircraft.
- Identify and respond to potential threats to national security, public safety, and health.
- Detain individuals, make arrests, and conduct searches as authorized by law.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and maintain accurate records of activities and seizures.
