This is an incredible entry-level opportunity for those with no prior experience in the cannabis industry – we provide all the necessary training to help you become a certified and knowledgeable expert. As a Budtender, you will be the face of our retail location, guiding customers through our diverse product selection, educating them on various strains, consumption methods, and accessories, and ensuring a safe, compliant, and enjoyable shopping experience. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome customers warmly, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences, providing personalized product recommendations.
- Educate customers on cannabis products, including strains, effects, consumption methods, dosages, and accessories, ensuring responsible use.
- Process sales transactions accurately using our Point of Sale (POS) system and handle cash and card payments efficiently.
- Verify customer identification to ensure compliance with age restrictions and cannabis regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor and product displays.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and organizing products.
- Stay informed about new products, industry trends, and changes in cannabis regulations.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures, including security protocols.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, assisting colleagues as needed.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment
- Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing
- Punctual, reliable, and a strong work ethic
- Ability to learn and retain product knowledge quickly
- Must be 19 years of age or older (legal age for cannabis consumption/purchase in Ontario)
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of CannSell certification (or willingness to complete upon hire)
- Prior experience in retail, hospitality, or a customer-facing role
- Familiarity with various cannabis products and accessories
- Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems
