Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cleaning Supervisor to join our dynamic team in St. Vital, Winnipeg. This full-time, on-site role is perfect for a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for leading a team to achieve exceptional cleanliness standards. As a Cleaning Supervisor, you will be the cornerstone of our operational excellence, ensuring that all cleaning tasks are performed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality. You will oversee a team of cleaning staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a positive and productive work environment.

Your day-to-day will involve hands-on supervision, inspecting work areas, managing inventory of supplies, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. We are looking for someone who can not only lead by example but also inspire their team to take pride in their work. This role requires excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to adapt to various cleaning needs across different facilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of cleaning staff to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of work areas to ensure cleanliness, tidiness, and adherence to health and safety protocols.
  • Train new cleaning staff and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to existing team members.
  • Manage and monitor cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper maintenance.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Address and resolve any cleaning-related issues or client concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure all team members follow company policies, safety guidelines, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, inventory, and staff attendance.
  • Collaborate with management to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices in cleaning operations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in cleaning or custodial services, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and health and safety procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual tasks and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is a plus.
  • Certification in cleaning management or related field.
  • Experience with various cleaning techniques and specialized equipment.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Familiarity with WHMIS regulations.
