Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in all provided training programs to achieve required certifications and develop expertise.
- Conduct search and rescue (SAR) operations, including operating vessels and specialized equipment in diverse conditions.
- Enforce maritime laws and regulations to ensure compliance, safety, and security on Canadian waters.
- Respond to environmental incidents, mitigate pollution risks, and protect marine ecosystems.
- Engage in maritime security operations, surveillance activities, and support national defense initiatives.
- Operate and maintain various types of marine equipment, navigation systems, and communication devices.
- Assist in icebreaking operations, maintain marine navigation aids, and contribute to safe passage for vessels.
- Provide first aid and emergency medical assistance to individuals in distress during operations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, other government agencies, and international partners.
- Maintain accurate logs, detailed reports, and operational records as per standard procedures.
Required Skills
- Strong commitment to public service, safety, and the protection of Canadian interests.
- Excellent physical fitness and ability to successfully pass rigorous physical assessments.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a demanding team environment.
