Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Telecommunications Specialist to join our dynamic team in Kelvinbridge, Glasgow. Your primary responsibilities will encompass the entire lifecycle of telecommunications systems: design, installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance. Key Responsibilities
- Design, install, configure, and maintain telecommunications systems and equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, voice gateways, etc.).
- Perform diagnostic testing and troubleshooting of complex network and voice communication issues.
- Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Conduct regular system upgrades, patches, and hardware replacements to keep infrastructure current and secure.
- Document network configurations, changes, and operational procedures accurately and comprehensively.
- Participate in network capacity planning and expansion projects to accommodate future growth and technological advancements.
- Provide expert technical support and guidance to internal teams and stakeholders on telecommunications matters.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, security protocols, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of telecommunications infrastructure strategies and best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in telecommunications network design, implementation, and support.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VoIP, VPN, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
- Proficiency with network hardware from leading vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with fiber optic systems and structured cabling.
