Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with forest inventory tasks, including tree identification, measurement, and data recording using various tools and technologies.
- Operate and maintain field equipment such as GPS units, clinometers, compasses, and data recorders.
- Navigate diverse forest terrain using maps, compasses, and GPS to locate specific sites and plots.
- Participate in timber cruising, stand delineation, and regeneration surveys.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and report any malfunctions or damage.
- Collect and organize field data accurately and efficiently, ensuring data integrity.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress, challenges, and safety concerns.
- Contribute to general site maintenance and organization as required.
- Support the implementation of reforestation and silviculture activities.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for working outdoors and in natural environments.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and simple report generation.
- Ability to read and interpret maps.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to work in varying weather conditions and challenging terrain.

- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Enrollment in or completion of a diploma/certificate program in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Basic knowledge of local tree species and ecosystems.
- Experience with outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, or surveying.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
