Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geologist to join our growing team in South End, Boston. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise to diverse projects encompassing environmental consulting, civil engineering, and infrastructure development. As a Geologist, you will be instrumental in conducting crucial site investigations, assessing geological hazards, and developing innovative solutions to complex subsurface challenges. You will be actively involved in all project phases, from initial scoping and fieldwork to data analysis, report generation, and client communication. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive geological field investigations, including soil, rock, and groundwater sampling, logging, and mapping.
- Perform detailed data analysis, interpretation, and visualization using GIS and specialized geological modeling software.
- Prepare clear, concise, and detailed technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee and manage drilling operations, well installation, and various geophysical surveys.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant environmental regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols on every project.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers.
- Contribute to various aspects of project planning, scheduling, and budget management to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Provide expert geological insights and recommendations for a wide range of projects, including site assessments, remediation strategies, and resource development initiatives.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in geological mapping, subsurface interpretation, and various fieldwork techniques.
- Strong theoretical and practical understanding of hydrogeology, geophysics, and soil mechanics.
- Demonstrated experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and geological modeling tools.
- Exceptional technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to interpret complex geological and environmental data to generate practical, actionable solutions.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and willingness to travel for field assignments as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
- Professional Geologist (PG) license or actively working towards obtaining one.
- Proven experience with environmental site assessments (Phase I/II ESA) and remediation project support.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, state-specific regulations).
- Prior project management or task management experience within an environmental consulting or engineering firm.
