Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily laboratory operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance.
- Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive laboratory safety protocols and quality assurance procedures.
- Manage laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, and procurement processes.
- Responsible for inventory control, reagent management, and supply chain optimization.
- Supervise, train, and mentor laboratory staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Manage laboratory budgets, including expense tracking, forecasting, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure strict adherence to all relevant regulatory standards (e.g., GLP, GCP, ISO, OHSA).
- Collaborate with research teams to support project needs and facilitate experimental workflows.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with instrumentation and experimental procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting for all lab activities.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in laboratory management or a senior laboratory role.
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science).
- Demonstrated strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of laboratory safety regulations and quality control systems.
- Proficiency in managing laboratory equipment, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Proven experience with inventory management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field.
- Certifications in laboratory management, safety, or quality assurance (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).
- Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Prior experience in a GLP/GCP regulated environment.
