Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking an inspiring and strategic Learning and Development Manager to elevate our employee experience and drive organizational effectiveness. Based in our vibrant Knowle, Bristol office, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and evaluating learning initiatives that foster a culture of continuous growth and high performance across all levels of our organization.

In this pivotal full-time role, you will lead the development of comprehensive L&D strategies aligned with our business goals, ensuring our workforce is equipped with the skills and knowledge needed for future success. You will manage the full learning cycle, from conducting thorough training needs analyses to developing engaging content, overseeing program delivery, and measuring the impact of our interventions. This role demands a proactive leader with a passion for cultivating talent, a strong understanding of adult learning principles, and the ability to translate strategic vision into actionable development programs.

You will collaborate closely with departmental heads, HR partners, and senior leadership to identify skill gaps, anticipate future talent needs, and champion innovative learning solutions. This includes leveraging various modalities – from e-learning platforms and blended learning approaches to workshops and coaching programs. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive learning strategies and programs aligned with organizational goals and individual development needs.
  • Conduct thorough training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and areas for development across various departments.
  • Manage the end-to-end learning lifecycle, including content creation, program delivery, and post-training evaluation to ensure effectiveness and ROI.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of L&D professionals or facilitators, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Research and integrate innovative learning methodologies, technologies (e.g., LMS, e-learning tools), and external training providers.
  • Develop and manage the L&D budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaborate with HR business partners and senior leadership to integrate L&D initiatives with broader talent management and succession planning efforts.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of learning programs using relevant metrics and feedback mechanisms, adapting strategies as needed.
  • Ensure all learning initiatives comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and coaching conversations for various employee levels, from entry-level to leadership.
  • Stay abreast of L&D best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies to continuously enhance our learning offerings.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in Learning and Development, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning technologies (LMS administration).
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging and impactful training programs.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate program effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and experience with various e-learning authoring tools.
  • Strong leadership qualities with experience in coaching and mentoring others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organisational Development, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) qualification or equivalent certification.
  • Experience working in a professional services or fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with diverse learning modalities, including virtual reality, augmented reality, and gamification in learning.
  • Experience with talent management systems and performance management processes.
