Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive client needs assessments to understand financial goals and mortgage requirements.
  • Educate clients on various mortgage products, rates, terms, and applicable regulations.
  • Prepare and submit mortgage applications to a diverse panel of lenders.
  • Negotiate effectively with lenders to secure the most favorable terms and rates for clients.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients throughout the mortgage process, providing regular updates and expert advice.
  • Build and maintain a robust referral network with real estate agents, financial planners, and other professionals.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all industry regulations, ethical standards, and company policies.
  • Stay informed about market trends, interest rate fluctuations, and new mortgage products.
  • Proactively generate new leads and expand client base through networking and business development activities.
  • Manage client files efficiently and accurately using CRM software.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Mortgage Broker or Mortgage Agent.
  • Valid Mortgage Agent or Broker License in Ontario (FSRA licensed).
  • Strong understanding of mortgage lending principles, products, and market dynamics.
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional client service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in mortgage CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity and professional ethics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Established book of business or strong client referral network.
  • Additional financial certifications (e.g., CFP, PFP).
  • Experience with complex lending scenarios (e.g., self-employed, investment properties).
  • Multilingual abilities are an asset in Toronto's diverse market.
  • Active participation in industry associations.
