Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough client consultations to understand their vision, preferences, and provide expert guidance on design, placement, and aftercare.
- Develop and execute original tattoo designs tailored to individual client requests, utilizing both traditional and digital tools.
- Perform all tattooing procedures with meticulous attention to detail, maintaining impeccable standards of artistry, hygiene, and safety.
- Ensure strict adherence to all local health and safety regulations, including sterilisation protocols for equipment and workstation cleanliness.
- Provide comprehensive pre-tattoo advice and detailed post-care instructions to clients, ensuring optimal healing and tattoo longevity.
- Manage personal bookings, scheduling, and client communication efficiently and professionally.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor, fostering a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all clients.
- Stay current with emerging tattoo trends, techniques, and equipment, continuously refining skills and expanding artistic repertoire.
- Collaborate with other artists in the studio, contributing to a supportive and inspiring creative community.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of professional tattooing experience with a diverse and high-quality portfolio.
- Exceptional artistic talent, demonstrated mastery of multiple tattooing styles (e.g., traditional, realism, blackwork, neo-traditional).
- Profound understanding of color theory, composition, human anatomy, and design principles.
- Proven ability to create custom designs from concept to execution.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills.
- Strict adherence to bloodborne pathogen and cross-contamination prevention protocols; valid certification is mandatory.
- Strong organisational skills for managing bookings, consultations, and studio workflow.
- Professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active and engaging social media presence showcasing your artistic work and client interactions.
- Proficiency with digital design software such as Procreate, Adobe Photoshop, or Illustrator.
- Established local client base or a proven ability to attract new clientele.
- Knowledge of Scottish and UK-specific health and safety regulations pertinent to tattooing studios.
- Experience with piercing is a plus, but not required.
